Hollywood Cemetery Tiered Section (on Hollywood Road)
The Tiered Section runs along Hollywood Road and is fairly open and accessible, although the rough terrain is still a problem. Judy Wilson has documented the burials in most of these six tiers. The stair-stepped tiers are numbered from bottom to top. As of winter, 2012, I'm adding the letters A through F. This will take a while to complete. The East Tiers are across Hollywood Road, east of the Main Hill and adjacent to the open hill known as Monte Vista Biblical Gardens. The East Tiers are accessible and are in a perpetual-care area.
The grave of Horace Wynne is on tier 6. In the background, you can see the terrain stepping down to Hollywood Road.
When looking at the downloaded directory file, you'll see the tiers identified by numbers and by the directions "left" or "right." These directions assume you are standing at Hollywood Road and looking toward the stair-stepped tiers. The lower levels are divided into left and right sections by an access stairway. Level six is divided by the high point on the tier, and this point is not at the center of tier.
Note: In the future (I hope), the terms "left" and "right" will go away, and will be replaced with letters A throught F. The new method will define smaller search areas.
