A visit with my grandparents, James
T. Hyde and Bessie Mae Kile Hyde.
In this little video, you'll see my grandparents, James (Jim) Hyde and Bessie Mae Kile Hyde sitting on the bed. My mother Sally is trying to dance with her father, while my aunt Helen Brown and my cousin Myra Brown watch and laugh. Toward the end, you'll see Myra tormenting our grandmother in the kitchen, with me as a willing accomplice. These moments were filmed with a Kodak Brownie 8mm movie camera. After fifty years, the bright, rich colors of Kodachrome are still vivid, even in this small-scale, highly compressed version.
